It takes its name from the village of Denges, located east of Morges, only 5 km away. But it refers above all to the "Histoire du soldat", a work by Igor Stravinsky in 1917 on a text by Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz, a leading author born in Lausanne and a close friend of the composer.
